Had a gift certificate to use, so we went! Very friendly employees! We decided to eat right there, instead of driving all the way home. Will definitely go back?
Then why go inland to eat? If the beach isn’t a place to party then the inland 70’s era Mikes is no place to dine. Keep up with the times or ship out...
But seriously, where is the open fish market? Where are the fish not frozen? Caught that day? I’m skeptical. I’d rather buy from the Italian Market in Philly and throw it on the grill, in the oven, once I get to the shore...drink in hand regardless, but I’m not eating here, waste of time, money, and class. #touristtrap
Why do people eat at this spot? They aren’t doing anything unique in the prep of the food nor it’s taste. You might as well cook your own seafood. “Let’s not make the beach the place to go to drink and party,” Mike Monichetti, owner of Mike’s Seafood & Dock Restaurant, told the mayor and City Council.“
Okay so we go down to Ocean City New Jersey every summer at least two or three times I cannot go down there without going to Mike's Seafood. They have the freshest Seafood around. Their staff is excellent and they know their stuff. Sometimes you have to wait in line but it moves really quick and they always have specials. My favorite day to go is on Monday for FREE Mussels... that I can eat the whole plate by myself. They have everything from baked to fried to combination Seafood platters. They also have takeout for fresh seafood if you want to make it at home. Check it out the next time you're in Sea Isle City!
This place is a seafood shop and a restaurant. The restaurant is very crowded but has a nice view of the bay. If you like seafood dishes like crab cakes and lobster mac and cheese, then you'll love this place. It is BYOB and you are able to drink your beer while standing in line outside waiting to get in. There is usually a mediocre acoustic guitarist playing cover songs outside, but something is better than nothing. Also, no table service. You order at a counter and if you need anything you have to go find somebody.
Heard about Mike's from friends who have been to See Isle. They weren't wrong ! Have been coming to the Jersey shores for years & all I can say is if you can find a place from Ocean City to Cape May that can even come close to Mike's please let me know. I won't go there but I want to know. Mike & his staff are friendly courteous & efficient. I can't wait till next year! To sum this all up, 5-star, top of the class, cream of the crop & worth every cent PLUS the food is excellent!
